First of all, the chair is really easy to assemble, as the instruction are clear. I thought this chair would be more comfortable, but it seems to be much stiffer than I expected. It came kinda small, so the upper portion of the chair only reaches to the middle part of my back, which makes me hunch over sometimes. Also, the chair is able to lean back, but it takes a TON of force to do so. I twisted the nob that would make it easier to recline and it is still quite hard to recline. Though, I would say the chair is still great quality, but maybe you could get better chairs for the same price. It took me about an hour to assemble the chair because the screws for the back too forever to go in. Also one of the plastic covers for the gas piston to raise and lower the chair arrived cracked...not that big of a deal as far as the functioning of the chair but still.Word of advice: don't tighten all of your screws until you get all your screws into their slots. Also the back of the chair looks like it goes higher than in actuality. It only comes up to the back of my shoulders. Otherwise a very comfortable chair. Very cushy.Fantastic chair with really good bolstering. Definitely going to need a break in the leather though because it is so brand new. Definitely recommend it if you’re looking for an office chair or some thing for your home for your personal use instead of for work I definitely recommend it.Initial impressions were positive, but despite the chair being soft, it is not supportive enough to use for more than 2-3 hours at a time meaning no good for work from home.I originally purchased this chair with a minimal amount of skepticism, based on the previous mixed reviews, but I bit the bullet and did it any way.Assembly was pretty simple. Took me all of about 30-45 minutes to put it together from the first screw, to the last cap being inserted and chair being functional. Although it was pretty simple, I did run into one caveat, much like many have and hope that I get a response after reaching out to customer service, and that is one of the caps that goes in the arm to cover the screw doesn't fit properly. It actually was two of them, but one of them I was able to make work by stretching slightly. (I think the issue here is that the size of the gap doesn't allow it to seat with the bolt inside of the hole, causing it to be cockeyed.)Quality is pretty good- compared to my current chair, this one is a step up, so credit to it for that. But this chair will be my office chair, and will get a bit of use, so hopefully we'll see how it withstands the test of time.Packaging- Now this one gave me cause for concern. I originally was going to send it back as the packaging it came in looked like some sort of knockoff (brown box with "AIR" Executive Chair written on it) -- similar to what many have gotten. And of course, the chair itself has no Serta marking.HOWEVER, I am convinced this is a genuine Serta chair. Firstly, on one side, which I originally missed altogether IS a "Serta" logo. Although this didn't sell me, I did some more digging. The box also has a "True Innovations" marking on it as well. For anyone who doesn't know, True Innovations is the design and manufacturer for furniture utilizing the brands Broyhill, Serta, and La Z Boy, to name a few.Additionally, the assembly instructions that comes with it is a genuine True Innovations manual. With all of this said, contraire to other reviews about it NOT being a genuine Serta office chair, I can almost attest that this is a true Serta Executive chair, even though the packaging doesn't look as most Serta packaging does on store shelves.Bottom line- I'm satisfied with the purchase. Again, not too impressed with the one cap sticking out slightly, but it's functional and works. Hopefully True Innovations responds to my email and I can request the potential for another cap to be sent or something. Would hate to leave it tacky as-is.UPDATE 05/07: I reached out to True Innovations, and provided them the link to this product and they verified that it is a true Serta Executive Chair. Additionally, I explained them the issue with the cap not seating properly. They asked for three pieces of information and said they would get some more replacement caps sent out. Hopefully one of them will sit well.Awesome customer service- but again, let's see how the quality comes through. Fingers crossed! So far so good, which is why I only give 4 stars. we'll see how it goesI struggled a little to assemble it due to some holes in the arm rests not lining up perfectly but after some attempts I got it. Ive been using it for a few months now and love it! The old chair was giving me back problems and this one made them go away.Really cute chair. This chair is hard and doesn’t recline. You have to force it to lean back a little and keep your legs grounded to make it stay. It automatically stays in the upright position. This chair is quite comfortable and supports back well ergonomically. I am 5'10" and 185 lbs, and there is no head support at all. The back of the chair is angled and doesn't allow independent tilt. You are getting a quality chair with the high end foam in the seat, back and armrest. I just feel way too small for this chair. If I was 5'5", this would be a perfect chair.Update: Called Amazon to place a return, however they indicated that the chair is not a returnable item due to health and safety reasons (Covid attaching to chair????). They said to go straight to manufacturer in California and deal with them. Nothing written in the description that the chair is non-refundable through Amazon even though it clearly says sold and shipped by Amazon. BS.Not perfectly happy but will keep this chair. Package arrived on time and without damage of any sort. Assembly was simple with good instructions. Quality of materials seems appropriate for this price range. This chair tempted me as soon as I saw it (I'm a sucker for good design). For my body type (I'm 5' 8" and 145 lbs) the chair is very comfortable for bum, back and arms. As I do a lot of reading at my computer, I need soft and relatively substantial armrests which this chair has. My only disappointment is that the headrest is too far back and as it is not adjustable, for me it's really of little use unless I add a pillow and slide my bum forward. I live in a smallish town so couldn't test a lot of chairs in person so did what research I could online and then ordered through Amazon. My first choice had to be returned (uncomfortable). If you live in a larger city and can shop in person, I'd certainly recommend doing that regardless of who you buy from.I ordered this chair based on the good reviews. I was very disappointed by this chair. I looked for over a year for a good office chair. When I opened the box, both armrests had flaws in the stitching and had been assembled previously. The seatback had a gash on one side. The tilt lever was loose and did not work....it did not lock the seatback in any position.I decided to reorder the same chair and give it another chance. It is assembled and the only issue I have so far is the tilt lever does not lock the seatback at any angle (as noted it should do). I will be reaching out to inquire as to how to rectify this issue. Otherwise, so far the chair is working as stated.I'm giving this one star due to all the issues with the first chair and because the 2nd chair's tilt lever is not working.I'll start with my only con. This chair doesn't recline very far. This draw back is an easy fix. You will need two 5/16 x 2 1/2 inch screws and two 1 inch spacers. Remove the front two screws holding the seat to the base. Put the spacers between the seat and the base and install the 2 and a half screws. All fixed. If the incline is too much for you then use half inch spacers and two inch screws. Don't forget to loosen the rear base plate screws by 2 turns so you can make space at the front to fit the spacers. Once all done make sure all the screws are tight.I hope this helps anyone who is having the same issue that I had.The person fabricating this chair must have been drunk. The screw holes that fasten the arms to the back are one inch higher than on the other side. Which means the back of the chair sits at an angle, with one side an inch higher than the other. I do not like to write negative reviews, and this a real pain to have to return, so, not happy with this product. It is also very carelessly sewn and the stitches are like a wandering snake up the sides of the back, and a STAPLE is showing clearly holding the back together. It was not just the fabricator that was drunk, but the Quality Control Inspector who must be blind. (Quality control stamp is on the seat cushion, what a joke)
