The assembly instructions mandate at least two people, but I assembled it alone. I’m 75 with lower back issues.o Used a Bosch power driver with a 5mm hex bit (1/4” drive) for initial driving then a ¼” ratchet for final tightening once all screws were installed.o Started all the screws before any assembly. Just drove them deep enough to poke out the other side. The two longer screws (J) go in the rear of the arm rests (C,D), outside to inside.o Step1: To attach the front legs (E,F) to the seat (A), I set the bottom of the front of the seat (A) on a small step stool + short 2x4 scrap laid flat so that the seat (A) holes were slightly higher than the leg (E,F) holes.o Step1: The two slats G and H look similar and are not labeled (that I could see). G is the longer one and goes between the front legs (E,F).o Step2: To attach the back (B), I first installed the rear slat (H, the shorter slat) (which is Step3 per the instructions). Then I attached the front of each arm rest (C,D) to their respective front legs (E,F). The bolt goes through the leg (E,F) first, inside to outside. Then, rather than trying to hold the back (B) in the air while aligning/driving the bottom screws, I balanced the back of the back (B) across the rear slat (H). Once the bottom screws were in place, I rotated the back (B) to the more vertical position then drove the screws for the rear of each arm rest (C,D).o To minimize bending over, I assembled the chair on a 4’ x 5’ worktable, rather than the floor.o BTW, the instructions show the flange at the top of each leg (E,F) being mounted at a 90 degree angle to the leg. The flange supports the arm rest. One of my flanges was mounted at 90 degrees but the other was 45 degrees. This manufacturing variation ended up not being important from a structural or usability standpoint, i.e., it was not worth requesting a replacement part.I’ve had the chair less than a day so cannot comment on durability. Mine will only receive a little morning sunshine in the summer so hopefully will last a long time -- assuming that brutal winter temps don’t cause unexpected damage.I only sat in it once but I like the wide arm rests and that my leg-to-back angle is 90 degrees. My previous chair had very narrow arm rests which were also too low and the best seat-to-back angle was still an uncomfortable obtuse angle. We have three adirondak chairs from Costco that are very good quality and have held up to intense sun exposure and needed two of a different color (teal) which Costco does not carry. I was hesitant to order these on line, but decided to go for it. I was pleasantly surprised with these chairs. The color is spot-on! Assembly was not an issue except I had to drill a new hold as one was not lined up. These chairs are lighter weight than the Costco chairs and I cannot yet comment on the longevity or fade resistance, but for almost half the price of what I paid at Costco, so far so good. I'm hopeful that they truly are fade resistant as advertised living in Arizona.... time will tell.We are very impressed with these chairs. I purchased 2 cedar ones previously from another vender on Amazon and they were much smaller, and they both cracked when we put them together. These chairs are larger, stronger and actually higher off the ground which is great for my husband who is taller and larger than me. I just may buy 2 more and get rid of the cedar ones. These are also going to last, they are like the expensive resin ones at the nice hardware stores, not the cheap plastic ones. Very happy with them. They also weigh about 35 lbs.Great chair. Easy to assemble. Instructions say 2 people needed but I assembled them by myself.Unlike other Adirondack chairs these are very comfortable.I bought a set to go with the high priced Amish Adirondack chairs. They look exactly like the workmanship of the chairs, match like they belong as a set. Great purchaseI recently purchased a couple of these HDPE heavy duty plastic fade resistant chairs as a gift. I chose these because I like my Polywood outdoor furniture, but wanted something less expensive so I could provide 2 chairs and a table. The quality is good, they are sturdy, and come with an Allen wrench for assembly if needed. They are a little more difficult to assemble than the Polywood varieties, but are each about $100 less. I was able to assemble them by myself, and was happy with the quality and results. The family receiving them were ecstatic and love them. Recommended.Very disappointed in the color of the chair! The red in the picture is nothing like the chair that I got! In the picture it shows a vibrant, shiny red and the chair in person is a tomato soup with milk color. Otherwise they are very nice, sturdy chairs.
