I needed a chair to replace my old office chair. The gas lift on it was leaking and couldn't be replaced, so this chair was purchased after many, many days of looking for just the right chair. I quite literally spent half a year shopping for a chair that met my criteria for size, comfort and durability. I purchased another chair for 3X the price and immediately gave it away because it didn't fit me. I settled on this one because I often nap in my office chair and this had a nice recline. The high back was needed and appreciated because I'm a big guy, well over 6' in height. I took the old chair apart this morning and moved it to the garage. Assembly of this one then commenced and I have to say that the instructions were a little confusing on how to attach the arms, but I'm mechanically inclined so I figured it out. I'm impressed with the quality of this chair, the strength of the parts, and particularly the sheer weight of it. This is not a flimsy, lightweight chair! In fact, it's almost perfect. Almost. I discovered the fatal flaw in the design the first time I went to lean back as I often did in my old chair. IT DOESN'T TILT!Yes, it reclines, wonderfully so. Yes, it has a leg rest! But the seat of the chair does not tilt back like most office chairs do. Not even a little bit! I'll be giving this one away to another friend. The search for a chair continues. This time I'll pay better attention to details like this.Edit: I want to be clear that the failure here was mine and mine alone. In fact, the company reached out to me after they saw my review and offered me a full refund, which I accepted.
